Products without endocrine disruptors and with plant ingredients allow to take care of the skin, which suffers with the changes of the menstrual cycle.
Some women suffer skin changes before or after menstruation. For example, they may get pus-filled rashes on the face, neck, and décolleté. This alteration can become chronic, but it is always possible to treat it with natural means.
THE HORMONAL CYCLE AFFECTS THE CONDITION OF THE SKIN
It is true that the menstrual cycle correlates with the condition of the skin. After ovulation and until menstruation it produces more sebum. This can cause the proliferation of bacteria which, in turn, produces folliculitis-type infections.
On the other hand, contraceptive methods, whether oral or by ring, maintain high estrogen levels that cause the lipid amount of the skin to decrease. And there are cases of special sensitivity to progesterone that cause small increases in hormones to increase sebaceous secretion.
As for progesterone, this, in principle, is not found in cosmetics. However, in this case, creams containing placenta or derivatives should be avoided, since this organ, involved in the maintenance of pregnancy in mammals, is rich in it.
LOOK FOR ENDOCRINE DISRUPTOR-FREE COSMETICS
Cosmetics that contain disruptors – parabens, chemical filters, phthalates, synthetic perfumes and diethanolamine, among others – are always inadvisable. They can produce structural changes in hormones, altering their cycles and causing them to have unpredictable and dangerous effects that can lead to disease.
They should always be avoided, and more so in the case of this type of skin, with high sensitivity and high levels of fat. Organic or natural certified cosmetics are a guarantee in this regard.
CLEANING AND SKIN CARE
You should be extremely careful when cleaning the skin. Use a cosmetic without irritating surfactants (a certified organic or natural vegetable oil soap, for example) and incorporate cleaning into your morning and night routine, paying special attention to the days after ovulation.
After that, it would be convenient to use a natural astringent tonic, such as witch hazel or rose water.
To hydrate and nourish, you could use a cream devoid of mineral oil derivatives that can clog the pore. Almond or jojoba oils are especially recommended.
Finally, the diet should be as healthy as possible: without precooked, industrial or fried foods. In any case, the intake of fruit and vegetables should be increased.
