Jojoba oil mask to take care of your hair

Do you want a clean, conditioned and abundant mane? The properties of jojoba oil help you to achieve this.

You have probably noticed that when hair looks good, self-confidencesecurity and self-esteem also benefit from it, and that is that hair is able to satisfy our need to look at ourselves with better eyes.

Hair that is docile, manageable, hydrated, shiny, soft, with movement… there are many demands and attributes that we like to associate with our hair and its condition. If we want to keep our hair well-conditioned during the summer months, in which the sun, sea, wind and prolonged exposures to external environmental agents are recurrent, we must have a series of specific cares capable of counteracting the associated damage. to the characteristics and conditions of the summer season.

Gestures such as covering it with a hat and picking it up in a bow when exposing ourselves to the sun, rinsing it well after bathing in the sea or the pool to remove traces of chlorine and salt, in addition to removing moisture later without pressing or rubbing it, we they will help prevent unwanted hair damage.

But we can still do more for the health of our hair with the help of vegetable and essential oils combined according to the specific needs of the hair in question.

Shea butter, avocado, coconut, sesame oils all these raw materials undoubtedly have a multitude of benefits in terms of maintaining the face, body and hair, however, in this article we want to highlight the virtues of vegetable jojoba oil when it comes to working on it, combining it with different essential oils that will give it both properties and different organoleptic traits.

The oil extracted from Jojoba, unlike other vegetable oils, is a wax, composed mainly of ceramides, able to easily ally with the natural fat of the hair and help both to sebum regulate the scalp and to repair the ends and prevent hair loss. and consequent loss of it.

This last point is very interesting since jojoba oil, by controlling the production of sebum in the scalp, removes dirt from the hair and cleanses the hair follicles, which improves circulation and considerably avoids the risks of hair loss, also favoring its growth rate.

For this purpose, we can make a mask based on essential oils of peppermint, lemongrass and rosemary together with the aforementioned jojoba oil.

  • 2 or 3 tablespoons of jojoba oil (depending on hair length and volume)
  • 5 drops of peppermint essential oil. Stimulates hair growth.
  • 5 drops of rosemary essential oil. Strengthens hair in addition to eliminating flaking and dandruff.
  • 5 drops of lemongrass essential oil. Provides shine and controls hair oil.

How to apply it

Spread it with a massage throughout the scalp and let it act for about half an hour. Remove it with a mild shampoo, preferably based on ingredients such as white nettle, rosemary, and sage.

If, on the contrary, we find ourselves with the need to nourish and hydrate the hair, feeling it lacking in strength and shine and with ease for breakage, jojoba oil can help us to soften, protect and restore a more vital aspect by replenishing the lipids that cover cuticles.

We can add a few drops of oil to our shampoo or apply it on the ends of the hair as a serum to repair them.

  • 2 or 3 tablespoons of Jojoba Oil (depending on the length and volume of the hair)
  • 5 drops of Ylang Essential Oil. Tones the scalp.
  • 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil. Repairs, adds shine and conditions hair.

How to apply it

This natural remedy can also be used as a mask, from roots to ends, when the scalp appears sensitive and irritated by the effects of the sun, wrapping the hair with a damp towel for the duration of the action to enhance its regenerating and repairing effect.

And forget about hair dryers and straighteners, let your hair breathe and flutter in the wind.
